Lipton’s 10 Questions

Inside the Actor’s Studio is hosted by James Lipton on Bravo!. For some reason, I enjoy this show. The low-tech, content-driven format meets my interests. While there are fluff questions from time to time, Lipton does a competent job at delving into the finer points of the craft with many of his guests. Each guest is asked the same 10 questions at the end of the interview session. These questions are based upon the French series, Bouillon de Culture hosted by Bernard Pivot. Lipton is a huge fan. Here are my answers to those questions.

  1. What is your favorite word? imprimatur
  2. What is your least favorite word? ethnicity, I struggle pronouncing it
  3. What turns you on creatively, spiritually or emotionally? thought which leads to learning
  4. What turns you off? apathy
  5. What is your favorite curse word? fuck or any derivitive of it
  6. What sound or noise do you love? My nine-month old daughter’s chatter
  7. What sound or noise do you hate? The beep of the alarm clock
