Project 7: Research Your Topic
Competent Communication
Tonight I delivered the model speech for Speak-EZ’s International Speech Contest. I think it went pretty well. I related the story of invisible, which I have been telling since seventh grade. It highlights my passion for language.
I was not expecting to receive credit for this speech. Given this was a model speech, I decided to rehash my most recent speech. This was the first time I had done that. After the meeting, Robert Cranston said I should receive credit for the speech. He selected #7, researching your topic.
This satisfied the requirements of speech number five, Your Body Speaks. The objectives for this are:
- Use stance, movement, gestures, facial expressions, and eye contact to express tour message and achieve your speech’s purpose.
- Make your body language smooth and natural.
- Focus on methods of delivery, but do not overlook speech content.
