Van Jones spammed me recently. He wants me to buy his new book. How did I get on his list? . . . Restricting my footprint: no cellphone and no Twitter these days. I like simplifying my life . . . We keep pumping the poverty-stricten for money. Now we are hitting them up for tickets to Morey’s Piers. Seriously, if families can afford trips to Wildwood, can’t they afford lunch? And if they can’t, should it be government that is pumping them for entertainment dollars? . . . Pascal’s Wager has been on my mind a lot lately . . . as has been reason. Pascal would have one accept it as reason, but if you just accept for reason’s sake, do you truly have faith? . . . I didn’t even record today’s first game of the season. Did my Phillies win? My enthusiasm for this season is nonexistent. I usually score all the April games before life interferes. Life is so busy, I haven’t even gotten with the game this year . . . One of the things replacing that is playing catch with my daughter. She has improved immensely these last couple weeks . . . Ahead of my time: Somewhere in my files is a letter I received from my employer about 15 years ago telling me I had to disband all my classroom Internet accounts. Policy was such that that all classroom web sites had to be mounted on school servers. That policy must have changed since the newspaper is highlighting Facebook pages some schools have. Of course, my network policy is so restrictive, I can’t even read the newspaper at work . . . NJ.com has an interesting article up of a local political junkie. I wonder if they got permission to take that photograph. Probably not . . . Chief Jay Strongbow died. He was one of my favorites as a boy . . . I’m a Luddite once again. I just couldn’t justify re-upping with Verizon Wireless. I gave up my cellphone and plan. While I miss checking in with Yelp, I find that I am not as distracted out and about as I think I used to be . . . Kiss is playing the lead-in to Dancing With the Stars. There are ballroom dancers dancing to Rock and Roll All Night. Some band has jumped the shark . . .
