This was an interesting game. Shoemaker pitched all right, but gave up a run in the first and always seemed to be pitching with men on the bases. That’s what happens when you don’t get the first man out each inning.
Even so, it was tied for several innings. Then Larnach hit a bomb. Massive 460-some feet to straightaway center.
All looked good.
Bullpens came out, it was the eighth and the Orioles had a runner on when the rains came. This delayed the game for 45 minutes. MLB.tv needs to provide something other than “This game is in a rain delay” screen.
Nevertheless, things restarted and immediately the Orioles jacked a two-run homer. Sigh . . . it’s never easy.
But when the Twins came up in the bottom of the ninth, their bats exploaded for six runs! Awesome to see the offense kick in. It became an easy win at that point with a one-two-three ninth.
