This is a post in the My Things series on this blog. In it I chronicle items I own. I seek to describe why I own the item, whence it came, and what value it provides . . . and any other tidbits of interest.
Once upon a time I fancied myself a chef. I had an entry date to the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park. It didn’t happen, but part of that fantasy has kept with me.
Early in my marriage I had shared that I thought Henckel knives were good. Gert purchased this knife for me for some gift-giving day (birthday, Chrstmas, or Father’s Day).
It’s a solid knife. Every kitchen should have a chef’s knife, it is said. I don’t have many knife options at the apartment, so this does most of the work. I suspect this will be my knife of choice for the balance of my days.
